World expo
The Shanghai World Expo will open its doors in 2010 with "Better City, Better Life" as its theme. The long tradition of public exhibitions, veritable technological and industrial showcases for the various participating nations, began in London in 1851. Paris presented its most beautiful creations in 1855, 1867, 1889 and 1900. Some of the monuments, like the Eiffel Tower, which were designed for these famous events, have survived to the present day.
