A Tribute to the Forest
Exhibition at the Château de Fontainebleau from 20 October 2012 to 28 January 2013
During the 19th century, Fontainebleau Forest was a source of inspiration for a large number of artists, including painters from the Barbizon School, the Impressionists and poets. Their works helped increase the popularity of painting outdoors. The Palace of Fontainebleau has organised an exhibition to pay tribute to this beautiful Forest, with a little known collection of paintings belonging to the Ville de Fontainebleau and a selection of drawings by Louis Boitte.
