De Dion-Bouton: tourism and holidays
Among the various themes that can be seen in the collection, views of tourist spots and holiday photographs stand out because there are so many and they are so varied. We can just as easily gaze in wonder at an Italian landscape as a palace in Istanbul. The plates provide an insight into travel and tourism at the beginning of the twentieth century and while some give us the chance to see with a different eye tourist locations that are still appreciated today, others provide us with an opportunity to discover places and monuments that no longer exist.
