Boris Vian (1920-1959)

50 years after his death, Boris Vian (10 March 1920 Ville d'Avray - 23 June 1959) is still acknowledged as an artist of many talents. An engineer from the Ecole Centrale, he became a provocative writer, poet, singer, critic and a great jazz trumpet player. Often to be seen at the famous Le Tabou club and other venues in Saint Germain des Près, he was one of the biggest idols of his generation. He died of a heart attack at the age of 39.
"I wonder if I'm not just playing with words. What if that is what words were made for?"
