Be it on a deckchair, in a hammock, on a public bench, on a beach or against a haystack... The siesta has always been an eagerly awaited moment of abandon, a stolen moment, sometimes associated with idleness, away from our daily tasks. Etymologically, the word is derived from the Spanish "siesta", which itself comes from the Latin "sexta", "the sixth" referring to the sixth hour, midday for the Romans. Give in to the temptation - a siesta is so reviving...
