Writing

Writing has become essential as a means of human communication.
The oldest writing in the world dates back over 5,000 years.
The varied media used for writing: clay tablets, the shoulder blades of cervids, tortoise shells, papyrus, tree bark, parchment and paper, whether they be precious, magic or ordinary, are constantly evolving, adapting to the ever-changing needs of the multiplication and diffusion of texts.
From the reed pen, the stylus, the brush and the quill to the pen and the computer keyboard, these tools make visible words that thus become permanent, enabling us to preserve and transmit memories of the past.
Throughout history people have constantly sent messages or left written records of their presence by writing on anything and anywhere, a tradition that continues through the use of both traditional and modern media.
