Nantes, Museum of Arts
The collections of the Museum of Arts of Nantes consist of collections given by the state from 1804 and
1810 and of the large Cacault collection, purchased by Nantes in 1810. In 1840, the acquisition policy shifted to
contemporary works, allowing visitors to trace artistic movements from the second half of the 19th century to
the birth of modern art and even to contemporary art.
