Two abdications, two islands, two exiles
The 6th April 1814 and 22nd June 1815 mark the end of his absolute rule. Napoleon abdicated both times and left France. Sovereign in his own right, at the head of a small army on Elba, he prepared his comeback little by little, which culminated in the "Hundred Days". Exiled on Saint Helena, closely guarded by the English, he died on 5th May 1821, completing the legend and giving rise to an incessantly questioned myth.
