Boulogne-sur-Mer, Castle Museum
Located in the fortifications of the old city, the Municipal Museum of Art and Archaeology of Boulogne-sur-Mer was created in 1825. It presents a variety of archaeological collections including Greek ceramics and Egyptian antiquities gathered by Auguste Mariette, as well as one of the most important collections of Inuit art in the world.
Mediterranean at that time. The masterpiece of the Vix Treasure is an exceptional hammered bronze volute krater, which was probably used to prepare drinks that accompanied religious ceremonies. The Vix krater is the largest known vessel from the ancient world.
