Chagall, between war and peace
Exhibition at the Musée du Luxembourg, from 21 February to 21 July 2013
Marc Chagall (1887-1985) lived through a large part of the 20th century, alongside some of the best artists of his time. He produced works of art, which evoke memories of his meetings, his journeys and his experience of the art of the 20th century. Between happiness and unhappiness, war and peace, his paintings also tell of the sometimes painful experiences in his life, marked by one revolution, two wars and two exiles.
