The Tudors
The Tudors

The Tudor family gave rise to a royal dynasty that gave its name to the period of English history between 1485 and 1603.
The Tudor period was also the Age of the English Renaissance, spanning the reigns of five monarchs – Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary I and Elizabeth I – who helped make England a major European power.
The Musée du Luxembourg will soon play host to an exhibition that is devoted to this family. The exhibits will provide an overview of their history and the romantic legends as portrayed by several 19th century artists.
